When you have a damaged sewer pipe, you need to have it dug up and replaced, right? Wrong! Thanks to trenchless pipe relining technology, it is possible to repair damaged pipes without damaging your home or your property.
The process is minimally invasive, and it is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly means of rehabilitating your existing pipes without tearing out the damaged line the conventional way.
At Wimpy’s, our drain and sewer technicians are proud to offer this innovative service to our customers throughout the Sarasota area.
How Does Trenchless Pipe Relining Work?
Trenchless pipe relining eliminates the need to dig a long trench in your lawn. Instead, we only need to dig two small access pits – one at each end of the pipe. After we’ve dug the hole, we will insert a flexible tube that has been coated with resin and push it through the old sewer pipe. Compressed air is then blown into the tube to force it outward against the walls of the pipe. Over the next few hours, the resin hardens inside the old pipe, forming a new pipe that is similar to heavy-duty PVC. The inside diameter is slightly smaller than that of the old pipe, but the material is smooth and not susceptible to root intrusion.
Benefits of Trenchless Pipe Relining
The primary benefit of trenchless technology is that it allows plumbers to repair damaged sewer pipes without digging up the customer’s lawn. That’s not the only benefit, though. Other benefits include:
- Faster repair
- More affordable than traditional sewer repair
- Higher-quality piping material
- Improved function
